Challenge

To modernize and enhance the digital interface to improve accessibility, navigation, and overall user experience for IBM's varied client base. This revamp aimed to address the platform’s outdated design, streamline the user journey, and integrate advanced technological capabilities, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user environment that supports IBM's strategic business goals and meets the evolving needs of accessing a variety software products in one centralized location.

Solution

To successfully implement the new Carbon design interface, I led my team through a rigorous process of iterative development, heavily relying on agile methodologies to ensure efficiency and adaptability. We actively integrated feedback from both IBMers and RedHat colleagues at each step, which was crucial in refining and enhancing the multiple interfaces. This user-centered approach not only facilitated rapid prototyping and testing but also ensured that each iteration closely aligned with IBM's high standards for functionality and aesthetics. By focusing on these principles, we were able to seamlessly rollout the new MyIBM platform using a Carbon design system, while staying aligned to our planned roadmap, culminating in a successful rollout and strong adoption across various other platforms.
